Kyle was born and raised in Destin and grew up fishing the back bay water of Choctawhatchee Bay. His teenage years were spent roaming the intracoastal waterways with friends in a jon boat, which is roughly how every good bay guide starts.
He left the area for college and went into the working world afterwards. It did not take long to work out that fishing was the job he actually wanted, so he earned his captain's licence and has been guiding inshore bay charters ever since.
On his own time he is still out scouting the local water, usually on a paddle board. His favourite kind of fishing is fly fishing from that board in the skinny water of the back bay, hunting redfish and speckled trout.
Kyle has a young daughter and son, so he understands what it takes to get a whole family on the boat and keep everyone happy. Getting a child onto their first fish, or their next one, is the part of the job he talks about most.
