20+ Years on the Water • Destin Fishing Rodeo Captain of the Year • Destin Locals

Meet the Captains & Crew

Four captains. Decades of experience between them. One job: put you on fish and send you home with a story worth telling.

Destin Native • Inshore Specialist

Meet Captain Kyle

Capt. Kyle lives, eats, and breathes Destin fishing. A Destin native who grew up with a rod in hand, he specializes in the inshore and bay fisheries the Emerald Coast is known for — redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and everything that swims the Choctawhatchee.

Known for his patient approach and his ability to put beginners and kids on fish fast, Kyle runs trips that are as much about the experience as the catch. Read Captain Kyle’s full profile.

Bay & Bay-to-Reef Specialist • Wasabi Captain

Meet Captain Aaron

Capt. Aaron has a life-long passion for all things fishing. Born and raised in Georgia, his earliest fishing memories are with his grandfather and a cane pole. Aaron has fished all over the U.S. — from Alaska for halibut to Colorado for trout — and now calls the Gulf of Mexico home, targeting Red Snapper and Mackerel in the Gulf, plus Redfish and Trout in the Choctawhatchee Bay. Life on the Water • Destin Charter Captain

Meet Captain Josh Calhoon

Capt. Josh Calhoon has been fishing in and around Destin, FL since he was 6 years old — bribing his older sister for rides to the pier.

He’s been a charter captain for the past 16 years. Josh has fished everywhere from the back bays of the Destin/Fort Walton area to the nearshore Gulf reefs and rigs. During his 20+ years of fishing, he’s had the opportunity to fish with some of Destin’s finest captains and has developed a reputation as a well-respected fisherman who is great with kids of all ages.

He’s won the Captain of the Year award at the Destin Fishing Rodeo three years in a row. Read Captain Josh Calhoon’s full profile.

With the Company Since 2021 • Trout & Redfish

Meet Captain Isaiah

Capt. Isaiah joined Destin Inshore Guides in 2021 after working the deck of larger boats as a deckhand and first mate. His own fishing has always been the shallow water kind, chasing speckled trout and redfish on smaller boats. He also works at Emerald Coast Bait & Tackle, our sister company, so he usually knows what is being caught locally before anyone else does. Read Captain Isaiah’s full profile.
