The 31 foot Cape Horn is the boat we run when the day calls for more range. Trolling or bottom fishing the Gulf of Mexico, working natural bottom and wrecks, with the deck space and the fuel to stay out for eight hours if you want to.
Trolling puts you on king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, amberjack and bonita, with mahi mahi, cobia and blackfin tuna showing up as bonus fish. Bottom fishing brings red snapper, mingo and mangrove snapper, amberjack, triggerfish and grouper, with seasons deciding what comes home.
Twin outboards, a full electronics suite and a deep-V hull mean a comfortable ride on days when a smaller boat would be working hard.

★★★★★
"We booked an inshore fishing trip in Destin and it exceeded every expectation. Captain Josh knew exactly where to go — we were catching redfish and trout within minutes. Best fishing charter in Destin, hands down
Took the kids out on a 2-hour trip and they had the time of their lives. Captain was patient, explained everything, and we even spotted dolphins. Perfect family experience.
Did a nearshore trip and the action was nonstop. Red snapper, triggerfish, and a huge king mackerel. The crew knows these waters inside and out. Will definitely be coming back.
This was our first time doing a Destin fishing charter and it couldn't have gone better. Captain Josh made everything easy and fun, especially for the kids. We caught multiple fish and learned a ton. Highly recommend.

Cape Horn trips
Questions about the 31ft Cape Horn charters
Trip lengths, the price of the full day, and what the boat gets you.
How long can a Cape Horn trip run?
Four, five, six or eight hours. The eight hour day is the only trip in the fleet that long, and it is the one to book if you want the range to fish further wrecks and reefs.
What does the Cape Horn cost?
$900 for four hours, $1,125 for five, $1,350 for six and $1,800 for eight. That is the rate for the boat, covering up to four passengers, with each additional passenger $50.
What is the difference between this and the nearshore trip?
The water and the species overlap. The difference is the boat and the clock. The 31 foot Cape Horn carries the fuel, the deck space and the ride for a full day, so you can fish further out and stay longer.
What do you catch on the reefs and wrecks?
Red snapper, mingo and mangrove snapper, amberjack, triggerfish and grouper on the bottom, and king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, bonita and the occasional mahi mahi, cobia or blackfin tuna on the troll.
