Destin Kids Charters offers specialized fishing trips designed to introduce children to saltwater fishing and boating. Unlike most companies in Destin, we give you the ability to customize your trip from 2 or 3 hours to fit your needs depending on the ages of your young anglers, instead of a minimum 4-hour trip.
On kids fishing trips, we venture into the calm waters of the Destin Harbor and Choctawhatchee Bay, staying close by to maximize your fishing time. Your captain will take their time to explain different types of fish and gear to the children.
On each trip, there’s also a chance of seeing dolphins and sea turtles. Our goal is to get the kids on whatever species is providing the best action to keep them entertained. These trips are highly customizable — from fishing to cruising around looking for dolphins. The boat is equipped with a small bathroom, making it very family-friendly.
With the limited time on 2-hour charters, these trips are primarily catch and release.

Trip lengths, ages, and what the day looks like for a young angler.
How long is a kids fishing trip and what does it cost?
Two hours is $400 and three hours is $600. Most charters in Destin start at a four hour minimum, so these are deliberately shorter to match a child's attention span. The price covers up to four passengers and each additional passenger is $50.
How old does a child have to be?
All ages come aboard. The captain sets the pace around the children on the boat and explains the gear and the fish as the trip goes. The boat has a small bathroom, which matters more than most parents expect.
Where do kids trips fish?
The calm water of Destin Harbor and Choctawhatchee Bay, close to the dock so the time is spent fishing rather than running. Dolphins and sea turtles turn up on plenty of trips.
What will the kids actually catch?
Whatever is biting hardest that day, because bent rods are what keep children interested. That usually means redfish, bluefish, speckled trout and ladyfish. If the fishing is slow the trip can turn into a dolphin cruise instead.
